Winter Sewing Inspiration

I have gone through a lull in my sewing mojo in recent months and am finally back on the upswing! I am seeing a lot of fun trends in the sewing community and I thought I’d share some of my favorite pieces of inspiration.

Simplicity 8543 Misses’ and Women’s Amazing Fit Dress

Statement Sleeves! The sewing trend of the year, and it seems like the trend will continue into 2018. I love the variations that this pattern has, and think the sleeve ruffles would add some fun flair to the drab days we’ve been experiencing.

New Look 6525 Misses’ Knit Dress

This dress pattern is so fun, and I think this would make a great transitional piece between seasons. Leggings and boots in the fall and winter, booties or flats in the spring. The drop waist gathered skirt on this is a fun detail, and I love the main view on the pattern envelope.

Bella Sunshine Designs Apple Cardigan

A flowy, drapey dream. This cardigan is going to make a good addition to my office wardrobe!

Do it Better Yourself Club Nora Sweater

I found DIBY this summer and fell. in. love. with the patterns Jessica creates. I also so appreciate the inclusive size range she provides in her pdf patterns. The Nora sweater comes with a few variations, however the banded bottom and funnel neck available in the main pattern view mirror my favorite Ava + Viv sweatshirt that has seen better days. This in a French terry or sweat shirting would make a deliciously cozy addition to your winter wardrobe.

Do it Better Yourself Club Julianne Shirt

Had to sneak in another DIBY pattern, but this time, it’s a woven! The Julianne is a gorgeous button down that comes in three lengths – shirt, tunic, and dress. The pattern comes with an amazing instruction booklet and Jessica makes tutorials on her YouTube channel.
